The light inside of you is relentless and wants to shine and everything it touches in its path is graced.

To say this gorgeous mama is glowing is an understatement. I mean, the sun literally shined on her and her belly wherever we went on this photoshoot.

Our gorgeous team member Dina is expecting her second baby boy and we couldn't resist but steal her away for an afternoon of photos. I mean, look at the beautiful bump! I met some of my photographer girlfriends, Jacky, Rebecca, Alexa and Gloria. downtown Honolulu and we explored downtown Honolulu with Dina and her bump until the sun went down.

I could have photographed the bump all day!

Got a bump?

Hawaii Headshots | Children's Couture Downtown Honolulu

Photography Shootouts are one of my favorite things to do with my photographer friends. The City Streets Childrens Couture shootout was hosted and styled by my two dear friends Kat Parker Photography and Sharleen Mey Photography.

My favorite thing about shootouts is there is no pressure to be perfect, and its a relaxed time to try new techniques, swap lenses with a friend, test out different poses, lighting and composition. Since the girls were young and playful, we had so much fun putting them in fun poses in not so obvious place like inside a window sill, on top of a bike rack, or hugging a lamp post for instance.

There was a large group of us at this shootout so we paired off into groups of 4-5 and took each model for 30-45 to whatever location downtown inspired us. And man, there is no shortage of cool spots to photograph downtown Honolulu, Our models Ava, Summer and Kenzie were super sweet and adorable, and so much fun to work with. A special thank you to their parents for allowing us to photograph their beautiful children.

And can we just talk about these dresses for a second? Ummmm, two words...tulle...and...lace. Yes and Yes!

And a few behind the scenes of the photographers doing their thang!

Chinatown Co-Working Office at Real Office Center | Hawaii Brand Photographer

Co-working is awesome. There is just something about sitting next to somebody that is hustling to get it done just as hard as you are. Very motivating.

Collaborating with other creatives is totally my jam. Now, don't get me wrong, as an introvert, I typically like to work and edit alone in silence but come afternoon, I start to feel a bit lonely. And while sitting at a coffee shop working alone isn't really the epitome of being social, it filled that lonely feeling and void of wanting to be surrounded by people that hits me about 1pm every afternoon. In comes my super beautiful and talented wedding photographer friend Ashley of  Ashley Goodwin Photography who has a super cute downtown office that she wanted to share with other creatives. Jenna and I showed up one rainy afternoon and upon entering were met with the scent of a yummy candle, a cup of coffee and the bubbly personality of Ashley and her SUPER cute office decorated in true Ashley fashion, bright and colorful. I mean, come on.

It was a no brainer that I wanted in on the office goodness. Right in the heart of downtown Honolulu and Chinatown, close to amazing restaurants and coffee shops. What else could a girl ask for. The office is part of the Real Office Centers in Chinatown and has occupants such as architects, start up companies, tech companies and just a whole slew of cool entrepreneurs in search of that perfect mix of being surrounded by other business owners but having your own space and a space to call your own.

The office is shared by the most amazing ladies in Honolulu.

Ashely, a wedding photographer at Ashley Goodwin Photography

Jenna, a wedding photographer at Jenna Leigh Photography

Chava, a wedding and event planner with Vida Chic Events

Kiersten with Marie Blooms.

We utilized the space in so many different ways, we of course did a lot of co-working and shenanigans, had lots of client meetings, we hosted glamour photoshoot, had a birth photo gallery opening on First Friday, held a video workshop, hosted a few Tuesdays Together meetings with the local Rising Tide Society.

Amazing space.

Amazing female entrepreneur colleagues and now friends.

Arleen + Zach Wood Wedding at YWCA Laniakea and Cafe Julia | Oahu, Hawaii Wedding Videographer

Happy 3rd Anniversary Arleen and Zach. I will forever be grateful that you allowed me to capture the most intimate and special day of your life.  It was the most beautiful sunny day, a gorgeous venue in downtown Honolulu and a such a spiritual, God-centered union.

These two lovebirds have the sweetest love story and the most beautiful 1940's glamour theme. And I had the privilege of capturing it on film for their wedding three years ago today.  They professed their love for one another at the alter before their friends and family and shared their long awaited for their first kiss at the alter.  Their theme was 1940's, vintage and they pulled it off with such class. Arleen's flapper-style dress was to die for, and Zach looked so dapper. And the get-away car at the end of the evening was everything!

Arleen and my friendship goes back over ten years. She is my dear friend, my spiritual mentor and just the sweetest, most genuine person you will ever meet.  Long before Zach came into the picture, we'd pray that the man of her dreams to come into her life,  and low and behold one day he did.  He was everything she had dreamed of and more.  Their love is the kind you read about in fairytales.

While capturing footage before the ceremony, I had gone back and forth between the bridal suite and the groomsmen several times.  I had walked away from the bridal suite for a bit to get the mic on the groom while Arleen was doing her last minute makeup touchups and getting into her wedding gown.  When I came back into the room, she was sitting in the corner in her glamorous wedding gown,  the sun beaming on her through the window, and her beauty at that moment literally took my breath away.  I was speechless, and fully convinced that she was an angel.

The ceremony and reception were held at the historic YWCA Laniakea and Cafe Julia in downtown Honolulu and was officiated by their very own Pastor Kuna of Word of Life Christian Center, the very women who mentored them through their courtship and kept their engagement strong and pure before God. The angelic voice you hear throughout most of the film is that of Pastor Kuna.

One of my favorite moments of the day was when they exchanged cards behind a door just moments before the ceremony began.  My heart was pounding through my chest as I witnessed the anticipation and love and excitement between them.

This was my very first ever wedding film, and although it is far from being technically perfect, it is perfect in my eyes as it shares their deep love for one another and their faith.
